Privacy Policy

Account information from Google Sign-In: your name, email address, and profile picture.

Google Calendar data, if you grant calendar access: your event titles, start/end times, and attendance status, so Nook can display your schedule and, for events you create in Nook, keep them in sync with Google Calendar.

Apple Calendar data, if you optionally connect it: your Apple ID and an app-specific password, used only to open a CalDAV connection to iCloud and sync your calendar events.

Content you create in Nook: task titles, descriptions, priorities, scheduled times, and Pomodoro / Deep Work session logs.

Your language preference, stored in a cookie and on your account.

Feedback you submit through the in-app feedback widget.

Your email address, if you join the waitlist before launch.

To provide Nook's core features: the calendar view, scheduled tasks, the Pomodoro timer, and Deep Work time tracking.

To generate your end-of-day focus recap: the titles and times of that day's calendar events, together with your logged Deep Work time, are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to produce a short natural-language summary. This data is used only to generate your recap.

Nook's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We request only the Google scopes Nook needs to function: your basic profile and email, and calendar.events, which lets Nook read your events and create, edit, or delete the events you schedule from within Nook.

We use this calendar data only to display your schedule and keep your Nook-created events in sync with Google Calendar, and to compare your planned events against the Deep Work time you log. We do not sell Google user data, and we do not use it for advertising or for any purpose unrelated to the features described here.

Your data is stored in a database we operate. OAuth access and refresh tokens for Google, and the app-specific password for Apple Calendar, are stored so Nook can make API calls on your behalf, and are used only server-side — never exposed to the browser or to other users.

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can disconnect Google Calendar or Apple Calendar at any time, which stops Nook from accessing them going forward.

To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at the address below.

Google (Sign-In and Calendar API), Apple iCloud (CalDAV, if you connect it), and Anthropic (the Claude API, for your daily recap) each process a limited slice of your data as described above, subject to their own privacy policies.

You can access, correct, or request deletion of your data, and you can revoke Nook's access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account permissions, or by disconnecting it in Nook's settings.

Nook is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of Nook after a change means you accept the updated policy.
